Drawing on Drawing
Grand tour through Western architecture to reconnect with the power of the hand-drawn line on imagination and learning
My fragment drawings capture a cross section of the thousands of sketches that I produced across the regions of Italy observing and recording urban design and architecture from the Etruscan era through to contemporary times. The purpose of analysing and recording precedent in this case using on site drawings as the method aids the skills of the architect as a rounded articulator of built form. The scholarship and the process of observing and recording through drawing changed my perceptions of architecture and has underpinned my career and passion as an architect.
