Curating Architecture
:
Practices and Strategies for Sydney
2016
My research was motivated by a long-held interest in the production of knowledge through architecture exhibitions, in the role they play in communicating ideas about architecture to the general public, and in the way they can offer the profession a space for reflection, experimentation and play. While only intending to capture a snapshot of curatorial practices, my investigation coincided with the growing relevance of architecture exhibitions and the emergence of scholarly curators who present architecture as a framework for intellectual inquiry, questioning the conventions of the profession and enabling the critical examination of urgent political, social, ecological and cultural issues.
